Osteopathy Treatments.

Osteopathy is an effective treatment approach that restores patient health with an emphasis on body biomechanics.
Osteopathy treatment can help
       Muscular skeletal dysfunction
       Joint mobilization
       Body symmetry
       Visceral problems

Joint mobilization, Cranial-Sacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation treat the whole body via the spine, joints, muscles, ligaments, connective tissue (fascia) and cranial system to restore health.

Osteopathy is compatible with modern conventional medicine and is recognised as an established system of assessment, diagnosis and treatment. It acknowledges that there is a unique inter-relationship between the structure and function of the body and treatment must reflect that. The osteopathic approach recognizes that pain and disability, can stem from abnormalities in the function of the body's structure and the damage caused to it by disease and injury.

Osteopathy helps with wide range of problems:
Back & neck pain
Upper & Lower limb injuries and restrictions
Shoulder, rib & jaw pain
Sports injuries
Tension related headaches
Post injury rehabilitation
Constipation

Osteopathic Adjustments.

Osteopathic adjustment uses a variety of specific principles which can help improve or correct conditions that are clearly related to the musculoskeletal system. These principles are often used in conjunction with other therapy such as stretching. Osteopathic adjustment is primarily used to treat acute as well as chronic conditions. Some people, however, find benefit with periodic osteopathic adjustment to aid in management of chronic back and neck pain difficulties.

Providing full spectrum of quality medical care. Rather than treating obvious symptoms of disease. Using "whole person" integrative approach to health care, looking at underlying causes of conditions such as chronic stress, chronic fatigue, and more. Osteopathy operates from the belief that the body has the innate ability to heal itself and to make adjustments in which health and vitality can be sustained.

The benefit of choosing an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner is that you gain a healthcare partner that will collaborate with you about healthy lifestyle to achieve the desired outcome. With extensive training in Osteopathic Medicine and an instructor in Osteopathic Manipulation Medicine, I offers innovative solutions and intensely focused care.

As the muscles and skeleton comprise 60% of the human body, injury and disease are reflected in the musculoskeletal system. Osteopathic & Cranial adjustments treat the whole body via the spine, joints, muscles, ligaments, connective tissue (fascia) and cranial system to restore health.

Massage.

Massage Therapy
A massage therapist's hands are his most important tool through which he not only treats the patient but also detects physical and emotional problems. The massage therapist palpates the patient's body to determine the condition of the tissues and the likely source of any pain, and thus the correct form of remedial treatment.
Massage works through the various body systems in one of two ways, a mechanical action and a reflex action. A mechanical action is created by moving the muscles and soft tissues of the body using pressure and stretching movement, thereby cleansing them of acids and deposits. This mechanical action breaks up fibrous tissue and loosens stiff joints.
Swedish Massage.
Swedish massage currently represents the western "standard" for massage therapy. Also commonly known as "therapeutic massage".  This approach is truly a whole/full body approach. Focus is placed on improving circulation with fluid movements toward the heart. Influencing the circulation in this way removes stagnant fluids form areas of tension, bringing fresh oxygenated blood to all tissues at a cellular level and produce a deep state of relaxation.

Who can benefit from Osteopathic treatment?

Osteopathic treatment is available to everyone and can benefit people from all walks of life. In contrast to active sportspeople, those with more sedentary office-based jobs may also experience conditions which may be eased by osteopathic treatment; these include back pain resulting from poor posture and repetitive strain injuries. Today, it is estimated that 5% of the workforce has time off work in association with back pains. Increasingly, osteopathy is used to improve conditions that result from the workplace setting; treatments can ease pain as well as contributing to the increased efficiency of the workforce.

If you have just recovered from an injury or acute condition then osteopathy can be used to reduce the likelihood of your problem reoccurring. For example, if you have just recovered from a period of knee pain, your osteopath will be able to work to strengthen the structures that support your knee and retain the mobility in your joint. This will prevent you from injuring your knee in a similar way. Equally, if you have never had an injury, but have a hobby or lifestyle that puts you at risk, then osteopathic treatment could benefit you by preventing an injury. A common example of this is if you drive for long periods of time then your osteopath will be able to treat your body in a way that prevents you from developing pain in your back (which is a common complaint of people who drive for their living). Osteopathic treatment will bring you added benefits as it will give you time just to think about yourself and your body. You will probably find your consultations extremely relaxing and osteopathy is known to reduce your stress levels by increasing the efficiency of your bodies systems (such as your blood flow, nerve supply and immune system).
